About Me







Dr. Smithey is an Educational Psychologist specializing virtual education, emotional-behavioral disorders, evaluations of dyslexia/dysgraphia/dyscalculia, early intervention, and much more. Having worked in private practice, in schools, in the home, and in residential settings, she enjoys sharing the tools she has acquired over the years as well as shedding light on disability related topics. 

Professional Experience 
Dr. Smithey gained experience as a School Psychologist in several districts across the county of San Diego, allowing her to work with a variety of populations and greatly expand her professional knowledge. She has conducted IEE's for various districts and conducted private Psychoeducational Evaluations across Southern California. Dr. Smithey has spent the past 8 years as a Director of Special Education in California and now Oregon. Most recently specializing in virtual special education supports and services. Prior to becoming an Educational Psychologist, Dr. Smithey worked in Special Education as a Private Behavioral Consultant, Behavior Specialist, and Behavior Counselor. 

Educational Experience 
Dr. Smithey attended Alliant International University, earning her Doctorate of Educational Psychology (Psy.D.) while specializing in Emotional and Behavioral Disorders. She attended National University, where she received both her Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Psychology and her Masters of Science in the area of School Psychology. She Majored in Psychology and earned her Bachelors of Arts Degree from San Diego State University. 

Personal Information 
From Southern California, Ashley grew up in the San Fernando Valley with her three siblings. She now lives in Southern Oregon and practices across both states. Ashley enjoys Pilates, Yoga, Snowboarding, Traveling, spending time with family and friends, and being outdoors.
